Andy sighed, pushing his bangs back out of his face. He was looking at the readings on his laptop trying to figure out what on earth was wrong with Wheatley. He'd decided to come to the library where it was quiet.

There was only one other person in the library, and she wasn't the quietest one around. Her voice was a hushed whisper as she spoke to the small cat that only she could see. "Ches, you see, I just haven't got a clue as to what I should d- What" she gasped a little and looked behind her. "Oh, Ches, why couldn't you have warned me that there was another person here? You little devil!"

Andy glanced over at the girl, the worried crease between his eyebrows shifting as they raised slightly.

She quickly looked away, wanting the ground to swallow her whole as soon as she saw his face. "Oh, lord, no.." She hid her face, looking at a wall and trying to concentrate on it. She tapped her foot, looking over at him. After she saw him looking once more, she crossed her arms. "You do realize that if you take a picture, it lasts longer," her accent made her seem more childish than intimidating.

Andy sighed, dropping his gaze again. "Sorry, I'm just trying to figure out a problem," he says, gesturing to his laptop.

Alice looked at him and pursed her lips. She stood and left her book on the table. She skipped over to him and sat down beside him, crossing her legs. "Is it maths?"

"Not exactly... My robot's been acting weird. I don't know if it's a problem with his coding or one of the processors or if it was just a glitch. It shouldn't be a virus, pretty sure he has good protection against those..." Andy bit his lip.

"I really just stick to my books, so I don't know much about these... computer things! But, I can definitely try to help you." Her blue eyes gleamed with kindness. "Just give me a few details and I can give you something to work with."

"He's just been acting so disinterested lately, or on ocassion hostile, and he's not like that, he's usually really nice and friendly. Somebody hurt him emotionally before, and then something happened, he did something, and now he's like this...."

"Well, perhaps if you tried to show him something interesting, he'd be interested again. I know this cat who can smile, and to be quite honest, I think that's very interesting. Has he tried to talk to the person that's hurt him?"

"I don't know. I think they got in a fight before he got weird."

"Oh, well, I'm sure talking will solve things. Most times, that's all it takes. Perhaps he needs reassurance."

"I'm not sure that's the problem here. I got an error alert from his system. That means there is something wrong beyond just his feelings I need to fix. It's something in his system. It's just, he's never malfunctioned before. When he's upset I can reassure him but this isn't that simple...."

Alice's cheeks turned red and she looked at him with a shy smile. "Um... Well, I can grab you a few books and manuals to look at if you'd like.. As I said, I'm not the greatest at this!" Alice began to wring the end of her sky blue skirt in her hands.

Andy sighed, shutting her laptop. "No, it's okay. I'll figure this out later; it's not fair to ask you to help. You don't really know either of us. Besides, it would be easier to figure out if I could look at Wheatley anyway." He gave her a smile that was slightly worn from stress.
