"This place sucks..." Melody muttered as she twisted a loose piece of hair around her finger, "Why did we have to move here?" she asked her mother who currently was putting dishes away, the only thing her father would let his expecting wife do.
"Come on Mel" she cooed as she looked over at her daughter, "I'm sure things will pick up soon!" she patted her daughter's beanie covered head, "Why don't you go walk around downtown? I'm sure somebody will be there" she smiled.
"Not happening" her father called as he walked up the stairs, "Not by herself" Melody growled as she buried her face in her knees, "Come on Dean" Vanessa said as she placed her hands on her hips "She's not a child!"
"Yes she is" Dean called back as he disappeared up the steps, Vanessa rolled her eyes, "Why not go out and play in that darling little lake behind the house?" she asked, Melody looked up when she said behind the house she also meant clouded by trees and woods they only knew it was there because the realtor told them it was.
"Really?" The teen asked, "Sure just don't go to far" her mother winked as her daughter jumped up and sped out of the house, "W-wait Melody what are you going to swim in?!" her mother yelled after her, Melody was still close enough to hear her father bellow, "Melody Lee Waters!"
"Wow.." the lake was beautiful, it was shaded by trees and surrendered by rocks and flowers, Melody didn't waste time and soon stripped down her her under garments and let her hair out of the messy bun and dove into the water, re-surfing she laid on the water and did a few backstrokes "It's wonderful" she muttered as she went back under unaware that the water had began to glow.
When she re-surfed again she was missing...two pretty important things.
