Mavis stood at the top of Phantoms View, looking down at the city below her. She was shakes from being up so height, the tears pouring down her face. She didnt to have irrational thoughts when she was left alone and this was one of those moments. She stepped up onto the ledge and took a deep breath, quietly telling herself to be brave.
"If I jump, right now, what will happen?" She asked herself, her voice cracking from the misery.
Mavis had no friends and her separation from Hiccup had been hard on her. After all, she had given him everything and this is how she ended up. Her life had been a mess before due to her father but this was a new kind of depression. It was had to be a single mother and the tiplets wore her out. She was always exhausted, but every time they were with their father, she reached her breaking point.
The wind was starting to pick up now as she inched closer to the edge. She was seconds away from leaping but underneath all of her sadness and hate she found a small glimmer of reason.
'If you jump how, your babies will be motherless. You're being selfish. It's hard now but it will get better. It always gets better.'
"It always gets better," she repeated to herself, wiping at her tears. "It always gets better."
She peered over the edge again mad took another deep breath. She bent her knees and jumped, free falling down the side of the building. It made her feel alive for the first time in a long time. Before she could hit the ground, she shifted into a bat and flew off into the night sky. The jump had cleared her head, she just hoped it would stay that way.
(just a depressing Mavy fic ^^)
