Mavis sat in the dirt, hugging her knees as she cried. She was thankful that this side of town was truely as empty as the name suggested. Her usually shiney black hair was dull and fridges and there were dark circles under her solem eyes. She couldn't decide if she wanted to be alone of if she wanted someone to comfort her. Either way, she didnt really have a choice.

Wheatley was floating dejectedly through the empty side of the city, blue eye dowcast. He didn't want to be in his human form; it hurt less this way. He was different this way, wasn't exposed to feel.

The girl looked up and sniffed, eyeing the approaching Robot. She kept quiet, not wanting to disturb him.

Wheatley blue optic flickered over to her when he heard her, not having picked out her dark form before. In a flicker of blue light he transformed into his human form, arms wrapped about his midriff sort of like he was holding himself together. "Oh... umm.... h-hello there...." he said, voice softer and more sad than it usually was.

Mavis waved, wiping her nose on the back of her sleeve. "Hey," she said weakly, faking a smile. She was unphased by the transformation since she was used to shifting herself. "You're sad too huh?"

Wheatley nodded, giving a weak attempt at a smile back. He walked over to sit next her.

"Was it a girl?" She asked softly. It was the first thing that came to her head.

"Welcome to the club. Love sucks.." She sighed and laid her head against her knees but kept her head turned toward him. "I would say it gets better, but I wouldn't believe my own advice."

"I'd never really liked anyone before like that you know....? If it always ends up hurting like this I'll never get close to anyone again. I don't want to tell her how much it hurts though cause she's still my best friend and I don't want to hurt her too....." He hugged his knees.

Mavis nodded in understanding. She never experienced unrequited love before but it didnt sound fun. "I know it sums now but you shouldn't give up. There has to be someone out there."

"Who's ever going to like me like that.... I'm a robot...." He sighed.

"I'm not saying you shouldn't be sad though. Crying it out is the best medicine sometimes. I don't really know if robots can cry.. But I'm sure you get what I mean."
